Island Overcomes Altitude to Level Series Against Australia

16th Jun 2018 Off By Belson Keating

Apparently Island have managed to overcome their well-documented struggles with altitude to beat Australia¬†26-21 in the second of a three test series in Melbourne. As can be expected, I didn’t waste any of my precious time watching this silly game but the way the Emerald Islanders are crowing about their victory on social media you’d swear they just beat the Springboks! Apparently Island overcame no less than two yellow cards violently inflicted on them by Kiwi ref Paul Williams (yeah, I’ve never heard of her either). Of course, we all know what this means. We’ll have to spend the next week hearing about how amazing Island is from all their drunken supporters. But relax, there remains a silver lining at the end of this emerald green tunnel of slime. If they can beat Australia next week to take the series 2-1 we’ll be able to sledge the Aussies mercilessly for letting a bunch of emerald fairies beat them on home soil! So let’s dispense with our better judgement and throw our considerable intellectual prowess and magnificent gravitas behind the bumbling Irish. They need all the help they can get!

P.S. It was Stander wot won it for Hireland!
